Overview

The Environmental Voter Project is looking for highly-motivated individuals to join our Internship Program. Interns will work with the entire EVP staff to learn about organizing, nonprofit communications, and data analytics. Interns will be expected to devote time to voter outreach, volunteer management, electoral research, drafting memos, senior staff support, and event planning. In addition to gaining valuable nonprofit advocacy skills, interns will become talented organizers and political operatives by learning the nuts and bolts of nonprofit work and electoral campaigning from an exciting and innovative organization. We are seeking responsible, motivated candidates who can commit 10 hours per week.

While the Environmental Voter Project is based out of Boston, MA, this internship is a fully virtual experience and applicants from across the country are encouraged to apply.

Hours and Internship Duration

  • Start Date: January 31, 2022
  • Duration: 12 weeks
  • Hours: 10 hours per week
  • Days: (a) all interns are expected to work on Fridays from 12-5pm EST, and (b) interns can work with supervisor to choose remaining internship hours, in the afternoons from Monday through Thursday.

    We regularly work with academic institutions on providing academic credit for EVP internships. This is an unpaid internship, but EVP provides each intern with a $250/month stipend.

Job Responsibilities

  • Voter outreach, including calling
  • Volunteer recruitment and management
  • Track field operations and enter information into databases and dashboards
  • Voting and elections research, and drafting memos
  • Data management
  • Attend weekly professional seminars
  • Research public relations opportunities
  • Outreach to college and university groups
  • Support Senior Staff in preparing for events

Requirements

  • Access to a computer and reliable internet
  • A phone or other calling apparatus (i.e. Google Voice, etc.)
  • An interest in environmental issues or politics
  • An outgoing and friendly demeanor
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to represent the Environmental Voter Project in a professional manner at all times

Training Provided.
Interns will receive significant training in all aspects of field work, organizing, voter outreach, issues research, and membership communications.
